Colchis Lowland

Colchis Lowland

The  Colchis Lowland can be said to be the wealth of all of Western Georgia, and most of all, Samegrelo. It is a crucial aspect of ecotourism development. The reserve is located on the Black Sea coast, in the meadows of Lake Paliastomi, bordered by the Etseri River to the east and the Pichori River to the south. The national park is spread over the territory of 5 administrative districts - Zugdidi, Khobi, Senaki, Abasha, and Lanchkhuti.

A visit to the Colchis National Park is recommended throughout the year. In the gorges of the rivers, Churia and Pichori, as well as on the Paliastomi and Golden Lakes, you can plan a boat, motorboat, pontoon, and kayak trip, and then you can visit the Colchis forest and unique swamps. In the Colchis National Park, there are observation towers for observing more than 100 different species of migratory birds.

The park is particularly interesting for its Paliastomi Lake, the Black Sea, unique swamps, and the Colchian Forest. The administration of the Colchian National Park offers visitors boating tours in Paliastomi Lake and the Pichori River Gorge, as well as sport fishing, birdwatching, and eco-educational tours.
