Makhuntseti Waterfall
In Adjara, you will encounter unique nature and remarkable landscapes. The seaside resorts here will certainly amaze you, but the charm of Adjara is not only the sea – mountainous Adjara, and especially Upper Makhuntseti, is exceptionally beautiful and attractive.
In this village of Keda Municipality, at 335 meters above sea level, hidden among the cliffs, lies one of the most easily accessible and popular waterfalls in Georgia. The waterfall is located on the right side of the Acharistskali River and is just a five-minute walk from the main road.
You can visit the Makhuntseti Waterfall at any time of the year. There are plenty of picnic spots and dining facilities nearby, making it possible to spend the whole day enjoying the waterfall.
From Makhuntseti, you can also take a boat ride along the banks of the Acharistskali River and even enjoy rafting. It is also worth noting that Makhuntseti is home to one of the largest arched bridges in Adjara, dating back to the 9th–10th centuries, which you can visit along with the waterfall.
