Okatse Canyon

Okatse Canyon - the first canyon in Georgia with winding paths, rich lakes and waterfalls, is located in Imereti, near the village of Gordi, Khoni municipality, in the Okatse River gorge.

The length of the Okatse River is 14 kilometers, and the canyon is 2 km, its width is 3–6 meters in some places, 15–20 meters in others, and the depth varies from 20 to 100 meters. The canyon is decorated with several waterfalls, the largest of which is the Okatse (Kinchki) waterfall. The length of one of the lakes, "Oskhapo", is 60 meters. There are several natural stone bridges over the Okatse River, one of which is Boga. The canyon has caves from which karst waters flow.

For fans of extreme tours, a trail has been arranged on the Okatse Canyon, which takes about 2-3 hours to complete. The hiking route will pass through the Dadiani Historical Forest Park and a 780 m long trail and ends with a panoramic viewpoint, where visitors can take a memorable photo with a smart selfie camera installed nearby. The cover of the Okatse Canyon trail is transparent, which makes the trip even more extreme.
